Banana brand Equifruit says it will be on a mission to find the next top Bananity Fair supermodel at the International Fresh Produce Association’s Global Produce and Floral Show this month in Atlanta.
Show attendees can visit the Montreal-based company’s booth, No. BC409, Oct. 18-19 where “talent scouts” will be at the lobby entrance to spot those ready to embrace their inner banana superstar with the photo-op, according to a news release.
“The Bananity Fair activation is all about spotlighting those who want to be part of a movement — those who are serious about changing the banana industry but still know how to have a lot of fun,” said Kim Chackal, Equifruit vice president of sales and marketing.
Equifruit said it is calling all bold personalities who are passionate about ethical business to step into the limelight. The search for the Bananity Fair supermodel isn’t about conventional beauty; it’s about celebrating those who embody what it means to be a Banana Badass — someone who understands the challenges banana farmers face and believes they can make a real difference, the release said.
While no previous modeling experience is required, Equifruit says there are a few must-haves:
The photo-op is open to all genders, ages, shapes and personalities. Equifruit said winners won’t just walk away with an unforgettable experience — they’ll be crowned the Bananity Fair Supermodel and be sent a Banana Badass glow-up kit.
Equifruit will also be sponsoring the Women’s Fresh Perspectives Breakfast, an event that welcomes all genders and is included with the all-access pass. The company said the sponsorship aligns with its values as a women-owned business, recognizing the crucial role women are playing in driving innovation and leadership in the produce industry.
As a banana company leading the charge for fair trade in North America, Equifruit’s growing influence continues to be recognized, the release said, noting its recent B Corp certification and a third consecutive year of being named one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies by The Globe and Mail.
